Variance is an important aspect of the game, but not every system needs to increase potential outcomes. That’s why the TFT design team is working on revamping the item and loot distribution system. These changes will go live after the Remix Rumble World Championship through Patch 14.5.
For high-Elo competitive players aiming to qualify for Worlds through Regional Final tournaments, Patch 14.3 will bring a temporary fix. The item variance will be reduced to zero, meaning all players will have the same number of item components and gold starts will be gone.
While casual players may not be thrilled with these changes, they are necessary for maintaining competitive integrity. After the World Championship, Patch 14.5 will further reduce the overall variance in TFT. The team also promises some surprises to keep the autobattler fair with healthy amounts of variance.
The final regional events for Remix Rumble will take place over the next two weeks, followed by the Regional Finals at the end of the month. The TFT Set 10 Remix Rumble World Championship is scheduled to run from March 1 to 3.
