Back then, Cloud9 was considered an underdog, but they defied all odds and emerged victorious. Led by players like Skadoodle, Stewie2K, autimatic, RUSH, and tarik, they fought their way through the tournament, defeating top teams like G2 Esports, SK Gaming, and FaZe Clan.
However, their reign at the top was short-lived. The players from this legendary lineup have since moved on to different teams and pursuits. Let’s take a closer look at where they are now.
Jake “Stewie2K” Yip
Stewie2K, the player who single-handedly turned the tide in Cloud9’s favor during the Boston Major, has had a successful career since then. He has played for teams like SK, MIBR, Evil Geniuses, and Liquid, winning numerous titles along the way. Currently, he enjoys streaming games on Twitch and occasionally participates in CS2 and VALORANT competitions.
Tarik “tarik” Celik
Tarik, the MVP of the Boston Major, has also had a fruitful career. After leaving Cloud9, he played for MIBR, NRG, and EG, achieving notable success. However, since 2021, he has focused on content creation and has become a prominent figure in the VALORANT scene.
Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham
Skadoodle, who redeemed himself during the Boston Major, has transitioned to VALORANT after his CS:GO career. He played for T1 before shifting his focus to streaming. While he has been inactive recently, fans hope to see him back in action soon.
William “RUSH” Wierzba
RUSH, like his former teammates, is currently inactive as a player. After leaving Cloud9, he played for Complexity and EG before joining Mind Body Esports as a performance coach. He now works behind the scenes to support pro players in their esports careers.
Timothy “autimatic” Ta
Autimatic, the only member still active in the competitive scene, has played for EG in recent years. He has also dabbled in VALORANT but is currently taking a break to reflect on his career. In the meantime, he streams CS2 and VALORANT regularly.
The story of Cloud9’s ELEAGUE Boston Major victory will forever be etched in CS:GO history. While the players have moved on to different paths, their legacy lives on. It’s a testament to their skill and determination that they achieved what many thought was impossible. As fans, we can only hope to see them back in action one day.
