Apex Legends Season 19: Horizon’s Audio Issues Finally Fixed in Midseason Patch

Since her introduction, Horizon’s low audio volume has been a source of frustration for players, but now, Respawn Entertainment is taking action to rectify the problem.

The upcoming patch, scheduled to drop on January 9, will bring multiple balance updates and quality of life changes to the game. However, the focus will be on improving Horizon’s audio to ensure effective counter play and a more consistent experience across all playable characters.
One of the main issues with Horizon’s audio was related to her Passive ability, Spacewalk. This ability allowed her to have no landing lag and immediate action after falling on the ground. However, the audio effects of her landings varied depending on the distance she fell, ranging from a softer landing sound to complete silence. This made Horizon one of the quietest legends in Apex, giving her a significant advantage in flanking enemy squads undetected.
Furthermore, hard landings from Gravity Cannons or falls from Jump Towers triggered Spacewalk, providing Horizon with extra speed and momentum while making reduced sounds compared to other legends. This allowed her to sneak up on unsuspecting squads who failed to hear her landing.
The midseason patch will address these audio inconsistencies, balancing Horizon’s hard landing audio to match the rest of the cast. Additionally, her Tactical ability, Gravity Lift, will have its exit audio range increased, making it easier to distinguish when legends exit the Lift from a greater distance.
While there are still some concerns regarding Horizon’s footstep audio, Respawn Entertainment’s commitment to addressing the community’s feedback and fixing the most significant issues in her kit is a promising sign. Players can rest assured that it’s only a matter of time until all of Horizon’s audio bugs are resolved.
